I am just not sure I am going to be able to do what I need to do to be successful.  I can't even stay on my liquid diet like I am suppose to. Today is the 2nd day I have tried.  How on earth will I be able to do this if I can't even stay on the required liquid diet like I need to.  I just don't know about this anymore.

You will be sble to do the liquid diet if YOU realy want to buckle down and loose the weight  your dr program has.  If  you cant do it before your date and loose the reqired lbs he wants he will just post pone the surgery till you get with thebprogram! Ive seen it happen with a girl I mentored in South Carolina.

Ok im off my rope just giving u tough love!

I didnt have to dona liquid diet before my surgery. Just did the surgery and lost the weight. That was 11years ago. Ive maintained a 150 weight loss. By te way Im Carla. Im not being mean im telling u like it is!

I started out at 285 and now maintain at around give or tak at around 135 to 138. I survived Thyroid cancer. And now have imune defciency due to the radiation killing the parathyroid.

I know where u are at! I said I coud loose my weight doing weigh****chers! It wasnt going to happen! I soon realized I was addicted to food! Nw not so much! Now I could care less about food!!!!

I think if u take that attitude u can do the liquid diet! Thats my advce and story!

You can do this. Do you want the food more than you want the weight off? Once you have the surgery, the liquid diet post-op will be very easy because you won't want to eat (or at least I didn't). Try again. Don't give up. If you fail one day, try again the next. Although I have regained a bit, I started out at 355 pounds. Once I had the surgery, I didn't want to eat ... and the pre-op diet I was on, well, my only issue was giving up caffeine. Hated that. But I complied and did what I was supposed to do. You can do it, too.

Hang in there.  Don't give up.  If you slip during the day, get back on it as fast as you can.  Try to do your best each day.  Make a decision in the morning to work toward your goal.  Make a list of all the reasons why you want to have the surgery.  What do you want to be able to do once you lose the weight?  Write it down, and meditate on it first thing in the morning.

My list went like this:

Shop in the regular clothing stores.

Fly without needing a seatbelt extender.

Fit in the New York theater seats comfortably.  (Some of them are a tight fit for larger people.)

Get my blood sugar back to normal.

Get my cholesterol back to normal.

Have the ache in my joints go away.

These are just a few of the reasons I had the surgery, and lost over 100 pounds.

I am a recovering alcoholic.  When I was 16 months post-op, I had a horrific relapse back into the bottle.  It took me two years before I hit a really bad bottom, and ended up in rehab.  I regained 40 of my 100 pounds I'd lost.  While in rehab, I totally surrendered to God, and haven't had a drink since, and that was January 2010.  During my two year relapse, I had days when I did not drink, but I had more days drunk then sober.  It took me surrendering to God before I lost the obsession to drink.  I have not wanted, desired, or obsessed about drinking or getting drunk since that day.

Keep trying.  Hang in there.  If you slip, don't throw away the day, get back on track immediately.  Don't make a small mistake a huge disaster, you'll only feel worse.

Hugs,

Trish

Don't give up. You can do this. Go back and reread the book he gave us. You can have a side salad with the lean cuisine. Also a piece of fruit. Plus the book said 1 to 2 weeks before. Keep working on it. You have a few more days until your at the 1 week mark.

Hey Alison,

Got home and I'll be darn...it was on the  page, what you showed me at pre-op.  I enjoyed meeting you and your family.  Well, we can do this Alison.  I am starting all over again tomorrow and with these new guidelines I think it will be much easier for me, plus I was so pumped after hearing what all Dr. Roller said.  Chat at you tomorrow...
